How does San Miguel Lifestyle Brews amplify the taste
of your favorite dish?
I’m no chef but I enjoy good food. Be it at a
gourmet restaurant or right at home, it is very important that I please my palate
really well. I also believe that great food doesn’t have to come with a hefty
price tag all the time. Sometimes, the most hidden secrets to great cooking can
be just around the corner, under your nose, at the kitchen counter, and in this
case, right inside your refrigerator.
This happened to me one night. A few weeks ago, my
cousins and I decided to have a small get-together to celebrate mom’s birthday.
You can expect that there’ll be a lot of eating happening tonight. My task is
to prepare the finger foods.
I decided to experiment a little this time around
because we’re celebrating a special occasion anyway. Down at the store I
grabbed some frozen Cream Dory. I decided to make battered fish fries.
Now here’s how I made it a total blockbuster among
the group – I added a secret ingredient to it that my cousins have yet to
discover. I used the finest beer in the country for the batter. Instead of just
following the regular batter recipe, I used the famous beer batter recipe I
found in an old cook book. And for that, I made sure that only the most special
bottle of beer is used. I took one of San Miguel’s Lifestyle Brews, Cervesa
Negra for my recipe. The beer definitely added more flavor into the batter
while bringing out a unique taste in the soft, delicate meat of Cream Dory.
The recipe is very easy to make. Here’s how:
- Pour a bottle of San Miguel’s Cervesa Negra into a bowl.
- Sift just the right amount of flour into to it to make a batter.
- Add an egg and whisk away.
- Sprinkle with seasoning and MSG.
- Cream Dory cut into serving pieces and season with salt and pepper.
- Coat seasoned Cream Dory with the Cervasa Negra beer batter.
- Dredge with flour.
- Deep fry.
- Enjoy.
My recipe was a sure hit and I recommend it to
everyone. But that’s not the end of it. We spent the night eating, enjoying,
and drinking away. And what’s the perfect drink to go with my almost-perfect beer-battered
Cream Dory? Nothing else but San Miguel Super Dry beer. This beer’s crisp,
all-malt flavor leaves no bad aftertaste in the mouth. It slides beautifully
down the throat and into the stomach in a fully satisfying effect. Indeed, nothing
makes a perfect combination but good food paired with the country’s best beer.
