The Save22 Cheapsies Story

I love shopping but I’m also a cheapsie (read: bargain hunter). I admit I’m very frugal when it comes to almost everything (that’s my inspiration for this blog, after all). So as a certified discount seeker, I cringe when I have to pay for the regular price of the items I wanted to buy. Believe me, I end up buying nothing because of this unusual trait of mine.

Then I came across something: Save22. It’s a website that is a perfect match to exactly who I am. Do you want to know why? Let me share with you a short story.

I woke up one morning with this nagging need to go malling. But lo! I’ve only got 1,000 bucks in my wallet. And more particularly these are what I wanted to do:

1. Shop for a pair of sexy sandals

2. Grab a sumptuous meal

3. Watch a movie

4. Do some groceries (coffee, chips, and cola)

All for P1,000?! Is that even possible? You’ll never knew how I did it!

I went to Save22’s website at http://www.save22.com.ph/ to search for the best deals, on-going sales, and irresistible promotions that are happening near me. Save22 is a very handy and useful website for the cheapsie in you and me. And even if you are not one of us, it will still work for you as well. Simply drop by the site every time you want to buy anything – and you’ll surely find that very thing you’re looking for – at a huge discount at that! Here's a screenshot of their website:

So here is how I managed to make the most out of my P1,000

The Sexy Sandals

I searched Save22’s website and looked for a shoe or fashion sale of some sort. It led me to this:

That sale that happened last June 2 in SM Megamall was able to lead me to a huge collection of fashion items. I went straight to the spot that I wanted to ransack: the shoes racks! I looked through the items available and found exactly what I’m looking for; and got it for a little less than P500 too!

Dine Out

Since I’m a little bit tired searching for the perfect footwear, my tummy grew hungry. At this point, I only have less than 500 bucks to spend. With my tablet on tow, (and thanks to SM Megamall’s free WiFi) I consulted Save22 again and checked out where I can get that sumptuous meal I really needed at that moment. I saw this ad:

A walk down to SM Megamall’s food court area is in order then. I super loved Manang’s Chicken especially their unique sauces. Very much like the local version of BonChon. Oh well, just hope they can get a better spot than at the food court. But then, I don’t mind. Down to the basement, I went straight to theManang’s Chicken section in the food court. I showed the girl in the counter the Save22 promo from my tablet, and they fished out a coupon for me. Great isn’t it? I happily paid for the 4-piece Chicken Wings meal that cost me some P143 without drinks. But now with the coupon, it came with a free plate of cheesy spaghetti too! Good for me and my big appetite for the day.

The Movie Break

Now that I’m full, I’m ready to enjoy a good movie to rest my aching foot and well, my contented stomach. I am very tempted to grab my tablet again and search for Save22’s entertainment and movie list but then, I wouldn’t have much of a choice, would I? I can only watch at the SM Megamall Cinema unless I grab a cab to go somewhere else. and I went up the elevator and check out the movies. But with only P350 in my purse,I am having my doubts.

Well, well, lady luck is smiling at me today indeed. I came upon SM Megamall’s Movie Festival and get this – I can watch an old movie for half the price. The film showing that day was Side Effects starring Channing Tatum, Rooney Mara, and Jude Law. I haven’t watched that old film just yet so I pounced on it. After all, I’m just watching a movie to relax. I paid some P87.50 to the ticket counter and settled in the cinema's comfy chair.

Don’t Forget The Groceries!

Oh, yeah, I have to grab some groceries before going home. I was tempted to buy the stuff I need at the SM grocery store but changed my mind. A quick consultation with Save22 showed me this advert:

I live near Shopwise so it’s wise to just drop by there and check this promo out. I might just get that sleek casserole if I shop there frequently enough. After all, Shopwise closes really late at night. It should still be open after the movies. I have less than P200 in my pocket after leaving SM Megame for my cheapsie day out. But that should be enough for my grocery list which merely includes coffee, snacks, and cola. I will still have a few change to spare!

Wouldn’t have done it without Save22. I now hail it as my very best cheapsie shopping buddy! Indeed, Save22 is a place where you can research leading retailers’ promotions and catalogues online before you go shopping offline.
